Find the area of a rectangle
The area of a rectangle can be determined by multiplying the width times the height.
W x H = AREA (The area is always shown in SQUARE UNITS)
If a rectangle has a base (or width) 10 inches and a height of 6 inches, its area is 10 x 6 = 60 square inches.
See example (image on the left) of finding a measured kitchen area on a floor plan
1. Find the measurement of the width of the rectangle (13′ or 13 feet).
2. Find the height of the rectangle (18′ or 18 feet).
3. To find the area of a rectangle you multiply the base times the height.
13′ x 18′ = 234 Square Feet or 234 Sq. Ft.
